How I Work

I draw on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to each person, drawing on different approaches depending on your goals, experiences, and what feels most helpful for you.

Throughout my career, I have worked across a range of settings, including private practice, schools, the NDIS sector, and corrective services. These experiences have given me a grounded, real-world understanding of the many factors that shape a person's mental health, from personal challenges and relationships to the broader systems people navigate every day.

Across each of these settings, my approach has remained the same: to provide a warm, non-judgmental space where people feel heard, understood, and supported. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, practical, and tailored to each person's unique experiences, needs, and goals.

My Story

I've known from an early age that I wanted to work with people. One of the people who shaped that path was a high school teacher who helped me understand how much our environments matter: what we are exposed to, what we are taught, and who shows up for us. That belief is central to my work.

I grew up in the United States before moving to New Zealand, where I completed my studies, and later settled in Australia, where I trained and became a registered psychologist. Living across different countries and cultures has given me a deep appreciation for the many ways people experience the world, and a personal understanding of what it feels like to navigate change, uncertainty, and the experience of starting over somewhere new.

Like many people, I've also experienced the challenge of finding the right therapist. I know firsthand that it isn't always easy to find someone you feel comfortable with, someone who understands your experiences and who you can genuinely connect with.

My experiences shaped the kind of practice I wanted to build, one where therapy is tailored to who you are, and where we can work together to better understand what you're going through and figure it out together.
